Connie’s storied legislative career is a far cry from her humble beginnings. She never knew her father, and at the age of 6 she was abandoned by her mother, who was an alcoholic. Raised by her elderly great-grandmother, as a young child, Connie worked in a factory packing and stapling pork rinds in paper bags for just 25 cents a week. >>
